Cancellation Policy
Making a reservation at a bed and breakfast is not the same as making a hotel reservation. Due to our small size, cancellations affect us significantly. A last minute cancellation gives us little chance of re-booking a room. For this reason we have the following cancellation policy.
A two (2) day notice is required for any cancellation. For a cancellation made less than two days before arrival date, guests are responsible for the full amount. Reservations for 3+ rooms or 4+ nights require a minimum of seven days cancellation, and holiday bookings require a minimum of fourteen days cancellation notice. If we do not receive the minimum notice required, guests are responsible for the full amount.
Check In/Check Out
Due to Covid-19, we are limiting in-person interaction for everyone’s safety. As such, all check-ins are currently being handled as self check-in. An email and/or text message will be sent to the contact information on file with the door code, directions to your room, wifi code. There is also a binder of additional information in your room with restaurant recommendations and other helpful information to help you enjoy your stay in Houston.
No Children under 7 years
Sara’s Inn is regarded as a quiet escape for visiting family and business travelers and a romantic getaway for many guests, and we work hard to foster that environment. In addition, much of the furniture is antique and not suitable for children to play on. As such, for the quiet enjoyment of our guests no children under the age of 7 are allowed in the Inn.
Visitors and Pets at the Inn
We cater to the comfort, privacy and security of our registered guests. Visitors are only permitted on the property with prior Innkeeper approval.
We are pet lovers, but out of respect for all guests staying we do not allow pets in the Inn. There is a $100 fine if violated, plus the actual cost for any cleaning. Service Animals are accepted as required under federal law by the American Disabilities Act.
No Fireworks & No Candle Burning
Due to the historic nature of our building, and for the safety and comfort of all of our guests, we do not allow fireworks or incense/candle burning in any of our guest rooms or on any of the grounds. We know candles smell great, but they are a fire hazard and our smoke alarm is very sensitive. Inn guests violating this policy in the house or on the grounds will be charged a minimum $200 for damages or cleaning caused from candle or incense burning. The final charge will include all actual costs plus any lost income. If violated, guests will be asked to leave the Inn immediately without a refund.
No Confetti, Glitter or Rose Pedals
Confetti, rose petals, glitter, etc. are not allowed. Rose petals are beautiful, but they stain all that they come in contact with.
Damages
Guests generating excessive noise or bothering other guests will be asked to leave the Inn immediately and held responsible for the entire amount of the stay.
While reasonable wear and tear is anticipated, negligent damages found to be the responsibility of a guest will be assessed and charged to the guest. Final expenses will be based upon actual documented costs, plus any lost income. Please report all spills and/or damages to the innkeepers promptly.
Tax
A 17% Hotel Occupancy Tax will be added to all room rates.
