Cancellation Policy

Making a reservation at a bed and breakfast is not the same as making a hotel reservation. Due to our small size, cancellations affect us significantly. A last minute cancellation gives us little chance of re-booking a room. For this reason we have the following cancellation policy.

As we are a family owned business and have a low probability of rebooking a room last minute, a 7-day notice is required for any cancellation. For a cancellation made less than 7 days before arrival date, guests are responsible for any night that we are unable to resell to another guest. Multiple-room reservations, 3+ night reservations and holiday bookings require a minimum of 14 days cancellation notice. If we do not receive the minimum notice required, a cancellation fee of $50 will be applied to the credit card on file for a cancellation of a one-night stay and for multiple night bookings, a cancellation fee equal to one-night’s room per room reserved will apply.

Check In/Check Out

We will be awaiting your arrival from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  Arrangements for early and late arrivals are available and should be made in advance with the Innkeeper.

Check out is by 11:00 am. Late checkout may be available if our housekeeping schedule allows. The request must be arranged on the day of arrival or before.

No Children under 7 years

Sara’s Inn is regarded as a quiet escape for visiting family and business travelers and a romantic getaway for many guests, and we work hard to foster that environment. In addition, much of the furniture is antique and not suitable for children to play on. As such, for the quiet enjoyment of our guests no children under the age of 7 are allowed in the Inn.

Visitors and Pets at the Inn

We cater to the comfort, privacy and security of our registered guests. Visitors are only permitted on the property with prior Innkeeper approval.

We are pet lovers, but out of respect for all guests staying we do not allow pets in the Inn. There is a $100 fine if violated, plus the actual cost for any cleaning. Service Animals are accepted as required under federal law by the American Disabilities Act.

No Fireworks & No Candle Burning

Due to the historic nature of our building, and for the safety and comfort of all of our guests, we do not allow fireworks or incense/candle burning in any of our guest rooms or on any of the grounds. We know candles smell great, but they are a fire hazard and our smoke alarm is very sensitive. Inn guests violating this policy in the house or on the grounds will be charged a minimum $200 for damages or cleaning caused from candle or incense burning. The final charge will include all actual costs plus any lost income. If violated, guests will be asked to leave the Inn immediately without a refund.

No Confetti, Glitter or Rose Pedals

Confetti, rose petals, glitter, etc. are not allowed. Rose petals are beautiful, but they stain all that they come in contact with.

Guests generating excessive noise or bothering other guests will be asked to leave the Inn immediately and held responsible for the entire amount of the stay.

While reasonable wear and tear is anticipated, negligent damages found to be the responsibility of a guest will be assessed and charged to the guest. Final expenses will be based upon actual documented costs, plus any lost income. Please report all spills and/or damages to the innkeepers promptly.

A 17% Hotel Occupancy Tax will be added to all room rates.
