Houston Museum of Fine Arts, oldest comprehensive museum in the Southwest United States. You're invited to come see its treasures - art of world cultures from antiquity to the present.  New at  MFAH is the new Audrey Jones Beck Building which  opened on March 25, 2000.  The Beck Building will be the central repository for the museum's outstanding collections of European art from antiquity to 1920.

Houston Museum of Natural Science, Wortham IMAX Theatre (713-639-IMAX), the Cockrell Butterfly Center and its rainforest environment, the Burke Baker Planetarium and three floors of permanent exhibits with everything from dinosaurs to the elaborate Cullen Hall of Gems and Minerals.
Contemporary Arts Museum,  modern, all-metal structure houses its collection and exhibits, as well as a wide variety of educational programs for adults and children. The Houston Zoo/Houston Zoological Gardens,  located in Hermann Park. Houston's only urban jungle is a breathtaking example of spring and the renewal of life. The Children's Museum, highest-attended youth museum in the country, the Children's Museum of Houston serves more than 450,000 visitors annually. Committed to the mission of learning, the museum features 10 galleries of hands-on, minds-on activities that invite exploration by children, educators and families.
